Steely Dan 2013

Steely Dan is coming to Mizner Park.

The veteran jazz rock Hall of Famers will play the Mizner Park Amphitheatre, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m.

A staple of rock radio in the 70s and 80s, Steely Dan has sold more than 40 million records while winning critical acclaim for their complex compositions, smart lyrics and innovative studio production techniques.

Formed in the early 70s by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, Steely Dan toured widely from 1972-1974 before retiring to the studio. The band split up in 1981 and both Becker and Fagen pursued solo projects.

The duo reunited in 1993 and won four Grammy awards for their comeback album “Two Against Nature.”

Despite taking long breaks in between projects and rarely touring, Steely Dan never lost their popularity and their music continues to be a constant on classic rock radio and even jazz outlets.

Among our favorite Steely Dan songs: “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number”, “Reeling In The Years”, “My Old School”, “Do It Again, “Aja” and “Deacon Blues.”
