Weekend Best Bets: Cinco De Mayo Edition

Check out the next generation of talent at the Arts Garage

Check out the next generation of talent at the Arts Garage

Having been there in the beginning, I can personally attest that the vision of the Arts Garage was not only to showcase world class musicians and artists, but to create and nurture them as well.

With that in mind, we urge you check out the students of The Arts Garage Performing Arts Academy as they perform in their end of the year showcase, 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3.

This semester’s showcase is entitled, “Timeless,” an exploration of music throughout time.  See performances in voice, guitar, piano, drums, dance, and drama ranging from Beethoven and Bach to The Beatles and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Support the future of performing arts by attending and enjoying the atmosphere created by these talented future stars. Featuring performances by special guests and educators (does that mean you Drew Tucker), witness this heartwarming afternoon with family and friends.

Tickets are $20. Visit www.artsgarage.org for tickets and more information.

Cinco De Mayo Delray style

It’s hard to believe but this is the 16th year that Delray Beach is celebrating Cinco De Mayo with a festival produced by the Hispanic Chamber and Latino Cultural Alliance.

Time sure flies when you’re having fun and you will surely have a great time on the grounds of the Delray Center for the Performing Arts, Saturday, May 3 beginning at noon.

Chihuahua races (Randy will not be competing this year due to contractual obligations), food, children’s activities and great music will mark the occasion.

This is a can’t miss event.

Kentucky Derby

Our friends at Spodak Dental are hosting a Kentucky Derby party, Saturday from 4-7 to benefit the Community Caring Center of Boynton Beach.

Check out Dr. Spodak’s amazing new green facility and support a great cause with cool people. Admission is $20 and Spodak Dental is located at 3911 W. Atlantic Ave.

Have a fun weekend!
