The “Fantasy Foursome” comes to Delray

The 2014 Beth Daniel Golf Clinic will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014, 11:00 am, at the Delray Beach Golf Club (DBGC), 2200 Highland Avenue.  The clinic will feature a “Fantastic Foursome” of women professionals including World Golf Hall of Fame member Beth Daniel, 2013 Solheim Captain Meg Mallon, 2014 LPGA Q School winner Jaye Marie Green and 2013 Big Break star Stefanie Kenoyer.  The clinic is free and open to the public.

For 23 years, Daniel, a local resident,  has assembled professional friends and colleagues to present this clinic in cooperation with JCD Sports Group, Inc., managers of the City’s DBGC Municipal course.  Coordinating this event is Sandra Eriksson, former director of golf and current seasonal LPGA teaching professional at DBGC.  “This is arguably one of the absolute best combinations of players we’ve ever had at this event,” says Eriksson.  The event will be mc’d by Annette Thompson, BallenIsles Country Club LPGA Master Teaching Professional.

The “Fantastic Foursome” are South Florida residents and their respective professional careers range from Daniel’s “Rookie of the Year” title in 1979 to Green’s record setting 29 under par score at the LPGA Qualifying Tournament this past December.  All four have experience as USGA Women’s Open participants and Mallon owns the 2004 U.S. Women’s Open title.

Bleacher seating is limited so arrive early.  For more information, contact Sandra Eriksson at (561) 704-6964 or call DBGC at (561) 243-7380.  Note:  During the event, donations will be accepted with proceeds benefiting Breast Cancer Research.

About the “Fantastic Foursome”

Beth Daniel began playing the game at the age of six.  She is a two-time U.S. Amateur Champion and has collected numerous titles and every award given by the LPGA – many of them multiple times.  In 2000, Daniel was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.  She captained the U.S. Solheim Cup Team to victory in 2009.

Meg Mallon, fresh off her captainship of the 2013 U.S. Solheim Cup, also owns numerous LPGA titles to go along with her 2004 USGA Women’s Open Championship.  Her fourth round score of 65 is the lowest ever recorded for a final round in that event.  Mallon’s numerous LPGA awards are complemented by membership in more than a handful of athletic halls of fame.  As a playing member of eight Solheim Cup teams, she shares the all-time best Solheim scoring average with Juli Inkster.

Jaye Marie Green, at the age of 19, roared onto the 2014 LPGA scene with a 29-under total at this winter’s qualifying tournament.  Her professional experience includes the 2013 season on the LPGA’s Symetra Tour but her amateur record speaks volumes:  Two U.S. Open appearances as an amateur; 2011 Junior Solheim team member; runner-up to Lydia Ko in the U.S. Women’s Amateur; ranked #1 woman amateur in the nation in 2012; and posting a top-50 finish, as an amateur, at the LPGA’s Kraft Nabisco Championship.

Stefanie Kenoyer was a familiar face on Golf Channel in 2013, appearing in both “Big Break-Mexico” and “Big Break NFL-Puerto Rico”.  In addition to filming all over the world, Kenoyer competed on the LPGA’s Symetra Tour, recording numerous top ten finishes.  Her competitive history includes two collegiate conference titles; a U.S. Open appearance as an amateur; 8th place in the World Collegiate Championship and multiple “Player of the Year” conference titles.
