OVERVIEW

There are four colleges and universities located in Boca Raton. Additionally, more than 20 colleges and universities are located within 25 miles of the Delray Beach/Boca Raton area. Here’s a quick overview:

Florida Atlantic University

The fifth-oldest university in the state, Florida Atlantic University’s main campus is located in Boca Raton. The university offers more than 140 programs of study through ten colleges, including the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College and The Graduate College. Florida Atlantic University awards degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and specialist levels. Popular majors include liberal arts and sciences, business administration and accounting, education, psychology, nursing and biological sciences. The Boca Raton campus is one of the university’s seven campuses in Florida.

Lynn University

Lynn University is comprised of seven schools and colleges, including the Burton D. Morgan School of Aeronautics, College of Hospitality Management and College of Liberal Education. It is located in Boca Raton. Students may pursue day and evening undergraduate programs, online programs, graduate programs and certificate programs. Fields of study include business administration, psychology, film, graphic design, education, criminal justice and communication. Lynn University’s 16:1 student-faculty ratio offers enrollees small class sizes and individualized attention.

Palm Beach State College

Palm Beach State, with campuses in Lake Worth, Boca Raton, Belle Glade, and Palm Beach Gardens, was founded in 1933 as Florida’s first public junior college. It is the sixth largest of the 28 colleges comprising the Florida College system and began offering its first bachelor’s degree in 2009. Famous alumni include Burt Reynolds, Deidre Hall and Monte Markham.

It offers a wide range of degrees in supervision & management, information management, nursing, and many others.

Everglades University

Everglades University operates three campuses in Florida; its main campus is located in Boca Raton, and its branch campuses are based in Sarasota and Orlando, FL. The university awards the Bachelor of Science in areas such as construction management, alternative medicine, aviation technology and business administration. It also offers master’s degree programs for aviation science and business administration. The programs at Everglades University are designed for adult learners and thus offer small class sizes and flexible learning options. Students may take courses online or attend one of the university’s campuses throughout Florida.
